Daily technique classes are offered at several levels to accommodate the rising skills of the young dancer. Each student is placed in the class and level most appropriate for his or her development, and is evaluated at the end of the year to assess placement for the following year.

Pas de Deux • Tap • Variations
Ballet Technique in Levels 5, 6, 7, and 8 increases in difficulty. Pointe work is extended in duration. Variations from classical ballet repertoire are taught. At these levels, the students attend class four to six days a week, taking one to three classes each day. Emphasis is placed on developing the artistry of the dancers as well as the evolution of their technique. Advanced dancers prepare for college auditions or professional performance opportunities and are guided toward choosing the college or University that will continue to enhance their dance and education.

SPECIAL NEEDS

Ballet Royale will be offering classes for students with Cerebral Palsy starting in the Fall of 2007. Classes will be offered on Mondays from 4:30-5:30 pm. The classes will be accompanied by a pianist, ballet teacher, and physical therapist.

 

Ballet Royale will also now offer even more dance and movement classes for children with Special Needs. Classes for children living with Autism, Pervasive Development Disorder (PDD), and/or Mental Retardation will be offered in three age ranges and two sessions.
